On January 12, 2022, PUBG: Battlegrounds will become a free-to-play game.
Last week, the creator of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds,
Krafton, announced that the game would be made free-to-play. In January 2022,
the battle royale game would become free-to-play. During The Game Awards 2021,
the news was announced. Many existing PUBG: Battlegrounds gamers were anxious
about how they would be reimbursed after purchasing the game on numerous
platforms. Existing players of PUBG: Battlegrounds will receive a free
Battlegrounds Plus “upgrade” that offers extra perks.
Instead of spending $12.99 for the Battlegrounds Plus
upgrade, developer Krafton will give it to players that purchased PUBG:
Battlegrounds for free (roughly Rs. 990). Captain’s Camo Hat, Captain’s Camo
Mask, Captain’s Camo Gloves, and 1,300 G-Coins will be included in Battlegrounds
Plus (in-game currency). The upgrade also grants access to a 100 percent boost
in Survival Mastery XP, a Medal tab in Career, Ranked mode, and the option to
create and play a Custom Match. Battlegrounds Plus is a one-time purchase for
normal gamers.
Existing players will receive Battle-hardened Legacy Corset,
Battle-hardened Legacy Jacket, Battle-hardened Legacy Gloves, Battle-hardened
Legacy Pants, and Battle-hardened Legacy Boots in addition to the above
mentioned perks. In addition, PUBG: Battlegrounds will grant the Shackle and
Shanks Legacy Pan and the Battle-hardened Legacy Nameplate to existing players.
Once PUBG: Battlegrounds changes to a free-to-play model,
all of these bonuses will be awarded to users following their initial login. The
advantages are also available in the Customize — Utility tab.
On January 12, 2022, Krafton announced that PUBG: Battlegrounds will shift to a free-to-play model. The game will be available for download and play for free, albeit free users will be limited to certain products and game types. Players who purchase the Battlegrounds Plus upgrade will gain access to these restricted features. In addition, as the free-to-play switch date approaches, Krafton has announced three promotional events.
Highlights:
- Some products and game types will be restricted for free players in PUBG: Battlegrounds.
- Battlegrounds Plus unlocks new game modes and more.
- Before January 12, PUBG: Battlegrounds will host three special events.
